I LOVE the velvet tend (I spoke about it briefly in my last post) so when I saw these velvet joggers at Zara I knew I had to grab them. I wanted the main focus to be on the joggers, so I styled them with a simple black t-shirt and leather jacket. I also paired them with my Nudist heels by Stuart Weitzman but another option would be to style them with a pair of sneakers. Either way, it’s a fun way to wear the trend 🙂

I have to say, fall is my FAVORITE season to shop for. I love all the layering, textures and shoe options. Therefore, I decided to share some of my favorite fall fashion trends!

1. Uneven Hem Denim: This trend takes your average jeans and makes them look effortlessly cool and chic. Pair with some booties, loafers or my favorite, pumps! Also very popular is the mom jean. Sometimes the mom jean may be combined with the uneven hem trend which I prefer. I actually DIYed a pair and they came out awesome so that may be an option for you.

2. Velvet Everything!: Velvet is huge this season. I’m seeing it on anything from bags, to shoes, to clothing. Something like the velvet Gucci bag is great because it incorporates another trend that is still huge which is the crossbody bag.

3. The Oversized Denim Jacket: I’m not sure how long this trend will really be around, but while it is, I will be wearing it. Not to mention, it’s a really comfortable way to wear a denim jacket.

4. The Over The Knee Boot: Similar to the leather jacket, I believe this trend is here to stay. Wether it’s a heeled version or a flat version, they can instantly make an outfit. Plus, you can look great while staying warm.

5. The Leather Biker Jacket: I mean does this trend ever really go away? This is my ultimate staple piece. From girly dresses to black jeans and a t-shirt, the leather jacket will always edge up an outfit.

6. The Athleisure Trend: Who doesn’t love to be able to wear your track pants, sneakers and leggings out the house without ever attending a yoga class. Me!

7. The Silk Cami/Slip Dress: This trend is sexy and feminine. Wearing this trend in the colder months can be challenging, but add a long sleeve top underneath and you’re good to go.

8. The Loafers: I love the loafer trend because I think it’s a great way to add menswear into your wardrobe without it being too much. Throw them on with your uneven hem mom jeans and you are instantly on trend 😉

9. The Choker: If I had to pick one jewelry trend for the season it would be the choker trend. It’s appropriate all year around, but something about a choker says fall to me.

10. The Embroidered Bomber Jacket (Anything Embroidered): Embroidery is everywhere thanks to Gucci. Like the velvet trend, I have seen it on jackets, shoes, bags and clothing. The embroidered bomber jacket is a fresh new take on your average bomber.

Who else hates going to the nail salon and waiting hours to finish the usual gel manicure? I have become so impatient and simply don’t want to spend the time (and money) at the nail salon.  That’s why I decided to start doing my gel manicure at home! Don’t get me wrong, it still takes forever but at least I’m in the comfort of my own home watching Netflix while doing it.  Here’s a step by step video walking you through my process featuring Madam Glam!

Back to school time is here, so I put together four outfits that are practical and can be worn comfortably throughout the school day. These outfits are featuring key pieces everyone should own. Including: a denim jacket, black skinny jeans, a blazer etc. So feel free to mix and match! Have a happy school year!

Summer Brunch In Soho

Brunch? Yes please!

Yesterday, I decided to head into Soho for brunch at Jacks Wife Freda located at 224 Lafayette between Spring and Kenmare Street.

When we arrived, the wait was about 40 minutes long. I had expected that because I have only heard good things about this particular spot (also we arrived around noon).  The hostess was very sweet and I was immediately impressed with how calm her demeanor was for how stressful this job could be.  After about 45 minutes we finally got seated. It was a little crammed but thats New York for you.

Our waiter was just as nice as the host. We started with their amazingly refreshing drinks as the waiter had suggested. I chose an iced green tea made with matcha and my friend and sister both chose a watermelon water. I tried both. The watermelon water was the better out of the two. It was just like biting into a fresh cold watermelon with chunks of the watermelon right inside the drink, yummm.

(All the rest of these pictures are from Snapchat: Chelseaabella)

My friend and I ordered the same thing. The Green Shakshuka which was very good. My sister had the Mediterranean Breakfast. Although I didn’t try hers, she said she wishes she could eat it everyday. Lastly we got one of their amazing waffles for the table. Everything was fairly priced (especially for NYC) and surprisingly more on the healthier side. All and all we really enjoyed ourselves and I would definitely recommend them!

After brunch we strolled down the streets of Soho looking for some New York City art work.

We ended our day by hitting up 10 Below on Allen Street. My friend had recommended it and I was down for some ice cream on such a warm summer day. They were packed. We waited online at least 20 minutes before we got to place our order. They had R & B music blasting so I was cool with the wait 🙂

They had 9 flavors to choose from. 8 original flavors plus one special. I’m a huge coffee flavor fan so I went for No. 5 “I Love You A Latte”…too cute. Not to mention they add condensed milk to it. I LOVE condensed milk.

The coolest part about this place is that they serve fresh, made-to-order ice cream. If you follow me on Snapchat then you know what I’m talking about.

They charge $8.00 for the one size they have available which is on the larger side. You also get unlimited toppings with that price.

After about 35 minutes (all together) we had our ice cream. The time and energy they put into making the ice cream right in front of you translates to how good it taste. I opted for no toppings and it still was the best coffee ice cream I have ever had. I’m still dreaming about it.

It was a delicious end to a great day. What are some of your favorite things to do in Soho?

Something In My Mules

3 3 shoes 5 6 Yesterday I went into Soho (one of my favorite places in NYC) to grab some brunch at Jacks Wife Freda (to hear my thoughts click HERE)  and to also do some light shopping. We also checked out some of the local murals (very touristy of us lol). Lastly we stopped at this delicious ice cream spot called 10 Below for dessert. With all that being said we did A LOT of walking.

I was so happy I opted for my Urban Outfitter mules. They are super comfortable and because the heel is so low, I could have walked in them all day, which I basically did.

The mule trend is something that comes in all heel heights/styles but because I’m on the taller side I decided to go with a lower style mule.

It was pretty hot this day so I kept it simple and casual with my white v-neck tee, Levis cut offs and for interest I added a grey vest from Topshop.

Something Styling Culottes

2 3 4 16 18 21 22 20 10 The culottes trend is something some people either love or hate. I really wanted to play around with the trend and see if I would like it on myself. I purchased mine from Forever 21 (as I showed in a haul) Score because they were so inexpensive yet great quality and they came in this nice neutral color, oh! and they had pockets, everyone likes pockets 🙂

When styling culottes everyone has their own way of doing it but in my opinion I think it’s all about proportions. Because the pants are flowy and cut right below the knee, I love complimenting that proportion with a crop top. Especially because they are also high waisted. This one from NA-KD has a choker attached which makes it a little different from your average crop top. Another option would be to tuck in a t-shirt/tank top into the pants to compliment the look. To finish off the look, I added some strappy heels from Zara (I think culottes look the best with heels) and my All Saints leather jacket to add a little edge.

What do you guys think of this trend?

Something Off The Shoulder

IMG_3106 IMG_3110 IMG_3116 IMG_3121 IMG_3175 IMG_3187 IMG_3154 IMG_3184 IMG_3171 So today I went into Manhattan for a wedding (just the church/ceremony part) but also had plans in Queens right after to go to lunch for my dads birthday. I needed to wear something that could work for both occasions. I will admit, the wedding was pretty casual so I didn’t have to think too hard. Here’s what I came up with!

I have been obsessed with the off the shoulder trend. I’v actually loved the trend for years because it’s so flattering and forgiving on so many body shapes.  I paired my RoseGal dress (which is tall girl friendly due to the back falling lower than the front) with some gladiator heels and done! Simple yet chic 🙂

My Small Apartment Tour (Before & After)

So a little over a year ago I posted a blog post called My First Apartment! Since then, I haven’t done an update. So here it is!

(I apologize in advance for the not so great pictures, I was not expecting to do a before and after)

I finally was able to get my apartment to about 98% done. Because lets be honest, there’s always things I’m changing around and wanting to add. It took me so long because prior to my boyfriend and I moving in, a couple had been living there and the appearance of the apartment was far from my style. Not to mention, I decided to change what they had as their bedroom to our living room and switch what they had as their living room/dining room to our bedroom.  It just made more sense.

I started with a fresh coat of paint on every single wall including the bathroom.  I also added a striped accent wall in the living room, which again use to be their bedroom.

The accent wall I added (the edges still needed to be touched up) STRIPED WALL 1 After the fresh paint on all walls, the apartment already looked one hundred times better. It’s true what they say….paint really does wonders.  After the paint came more paint…that is  Rust-Oleum Tub And Tile Refinishing paint. Because I did not want to spend the money to get rid of the tiles in the bathroom, I decided to paint all the tiles white. A great quick fix for ugly outdated tiles.

The bathroom before regular paint & fresh paint on the tiles BETHROOM BEFORE 1 The bathroom after paint etc. bathroom 3 bathroom 2 The bedroom was the room that was done the fastest. After the paint, I just added some basic furniture and minimal decor pieces. Where they had their dining room set up, I changed it into a small “office like” area for my blogging/YouTube.

The before of their living room aka our new bedroom LIVING ROOM BEFORE 1 LIVING ROOM BEFORE 3 The after of where they had the TV bedroom 1 The after of where they had their dining room set bedroom 2 I did decorate a little more in this area because again this is my work desk/beauty area etc.

Before I get to my favorite room in the apartment lets talk about the kitchen. The kitchen was actually my last project because I had originally thought it was going to be redone so I didn’t want to begin decorating or fixing it.  It worked out where the renovations could not be done so I kept it pretty simple. Again fresh paint on all the walls and cabinets. I also changed out the old cabinet knobs for new shiny silver ones. I then added a temporary backslash to cover the outdated one and finished it off with some rustic elements. I also added a bar top (that I DIYed) and some bar stools from target. The kitchen is a decent size for an apartment but I wanted to add even more room.  I did that by creating the bar top instead of the traditional table and chairs option.

The kitchen before KITCHEN BEFORE 2 KITCHEN BEFORE 1 The kitchen after (the bar top and stools)  kitchen after 1 The temporary backsplash blacksplash 2 My living room was my favorite room to decorate and is still my favorite room in my apartment. I wanted it to be cozy but modern. I again added the accent wall for that modern edge. The accent wall is a light grey and white. That was my theme for the rest of the room: different tones of grays, silvers and small pops of navy and purple. The accent wall called for some more attention. I added a beautiful mirror I found at Home Goods, which also slightly opened up the room. Then a mirrored table from Target.  I decorated the table with some picture frames and items I found at places like Target, Marshalls and Home Goods. I also added a white throw rug and accent pillows on the couch to make it cozy.

The before of what was their bedroom and what is now my living room BEDROOM BEOFRE 1 The after of the same angle/wall  living room 1 The full living room  living room after 1  When I first came to see this apartment it wasn’t what I was looking for but with a little inspiration and motivation (and lots of paint) I was able to really fall in love with the space. I hope it can bring a little inspiration to someone else.
